Amoxil.
Amoxil (amoxicillin) is commonly prescribed penicillin-like antibiotic used for patients with a number of conditions caused by bacteria. Therefore, Amoxil is not going to be efficient for the treatment of viral infections. Make sure you take Amoxil exactly as recommended – usually twice or three times a day with some food or without, at the same time. Your doctor will need to know if you have ever been diagnosed with any conditions that may interfere with Amoxil, so you will need to mention a history of diarrhea caused by antibiotics, kidney disease, blood clotting disorder, liver disease, mononucleosis, or asthma. Those medical conditions may require a dose adjustment to make sure you are benefitting from your treatment. Never take Amoxil if you are allergic to dicloxacillin, ampicillin, oxacillin, or penicillin, as the chances of getting an allergic reaction again are very high. Mild side effects of Amoxil include swollen tongue, vaginal itching, headache, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, and diarrhea. More serious ones include seizures, severe skin rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, pale skin, excessive tiredness, unusual bleeding or bruising.
